Photography Fun for Slackers in 2013!

holidayfbcoverphoto

See that storyboard up there? Yep the one with the candy canes. I love shooting that stuff. Looking at things closeup and in a different way than we do everyday. I love trying to find the beauty in the mundane and everyday. And now, here it is, the beginning of 2013 and I’ve been thinking I should be CREATIVE and CHALLENGE MYSELF! (You know that thing all artist are “suppose” to do everyday…) Maybe I do one of those 365 photo projects. Yeah that one – the one where you take a photo EVERY DAY!! and post it online for all to see. Ummmm… I’m way to much of a slacker for that! It would quickly become a “what was I thinking, I hate this, this sucks and I failed” project in ooohhh about 3 days… Soo then I gave it a little more

Oops, I Did It Again…

Ugh!! Can we call it life?? Let’s just call it life. It has been forever since I last blogged. I promised myself I would never get so far behind again… I was reformed, on a new path, THIS was a GO! A Family Thing

Child/Family portrait session 2

It was early in the morning on a hot, humid summer day when I met the L family at Sherwood Gardens in Baltimore. I found them in this beautiful setting eating breakfast while sitting on a bench under a tree. Did I mention it was early… We got right down to business and took off our shoes. Add in a beach ball and ready, set, run!! There was a brief interlude in the running to test out some tree climbing skills and then we got right back to running. Once all the running (and plain ole exhaustion set in!) I was able to take a few classic portraits of all the kids. Check them out – they are beautiful!! (The kids!! I meant the kids!!)

A Lake Cottage Wedding

Rogers Lake Wedding Old Lyme Connecticut 2

I got a call from California this winter. The woman on the other end of the phone asked if I was located in Old Lyme, CT and was I free 4th of July weekend. Well as most of you know, I grew up in Old Lyme and every July I usually spend a week at my parents when my sisters and their families come in to town. Of course I was available! The more I talked/emailed with Jenny and Jeff, the more I loved this wedding. It was going to be small – 40 to 50 people – and at the lake cottage Jeff spent all his summers growing up. I have a soft spot in my heart for the upper part of Rogers Lake. It’s where I first learned to row many moons ago and is still my favorite
