Yum!! How do you like One Straw Farm?? We were planning on doing the CSA thing this year, but I couldn’t find a pick up that was convenient (which cracked me up because One Straw has SO MANY options!). Swiss Chard is a fav of Lila’s. I’m totally making this!
One question though – - what is a garlic scape?
See — I told you she loves swiss chard: http://whatslilawearing.blogspot.com/2010/03/if-youre-happy-and-you-know-it-make.html
I like One Straw a lot. I’m going to be so in over my head with all the produce though! It’s going to be a real education in the kitchen this summer!! I chose to do my pick up right at the farm – had the most available days/times – plus it allows me to wander the back roads and make some discoveries.
Garlic Scape is – so I have learned – part of the garlic plant that grows up with the leaves of the garlic. It’s a spindly pike looking thing. Apparently it’s only available for a short time each spring and has a milder taste than the full garlic bulb. Did that help??
Definitely helpful! Love your photographs by the way – - beautiful! :0)
Thank You!!
